HENRY L. VERHULST, 1937

Director of the National Clearinghouse for Poison Control Centers 1960-1971. Reassigned to the Hazardous Substance Department of the Federal Drug Administration in 1972. Awarded the Public Health Service Meritorious Medal in 1965 for his work in the Poison Control Center development. Received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the U. of W. School of Pharmacy in 1975. Instrumental in establishing national toll-free hot line for poison emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
